Overview
CRZ Clearance is required for projects located within the Coastal Regulation Zone as notified under the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986. The clearance ensures that coastal ecosystems such as mangroves, coral reefs, beaches, and coastal habitats are protected while permitting sustainable development. The proposal is examined by the relevant Coastal Zone Management Authority before approval by the competent authority.
