Overview

Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) is a systematic process for identifying, predicting, and evaluating the potential environmental impacts of proposed projects before implementation. It helps in assessing impacts on air, water, land, biodiversity, and social environment, while developing mitigation measures to ensure sustainable development and regulatory compliance. EIA is an essential component of the Environmental Clearance (EC) process under the EIA Notification, 2006 issued by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC).

Key Capabilities

  • Preparation and management of EIA studies for industrial, infrastructure, mining, and development projects.
  • Baseline environmental monitoring and impact assessment of air, water, soil, noise, ecology, and socio-economic aspects.
  • Preparation of EIA Reports, Environmental Management Plans (EMP), Risk Assessment Reports, and Disaster Management Plans.
  • Identification of environmental risks and development of mitigation and monitoring measures.
  • Assistance in obtaining Environmental Clearance from MoEF&CC, EAC, SEAC, and SEIAA.
  • Public consultation support, including preparation of responses to stakeholder concerns.
  • Environmental compliance monitoring and support for implementation of EC conditions.

Applicable Regulatory Framework

  • Environment (Protection) Act, 1986
  • Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Notification, 2006 (as amended)
  • Environment (Protection) Rules, 1986
  • Guidelines issued by MoEF&CC / CPCB / SPCBs
