Overview

Soil Testing & Analysis is the evaluation of physical, chemical and contamination characteristics of soil to assess soil quality, fertility, land-use suitability and potential environmental contamination.

Key Capabilities

  • Physical parameters: Texture, moisture, bulk density, porosity and particle size
  • Chemical parameters: pH, electrical conductivity, organic carbon, alkalinity and nutrients
  • Nutrients: Nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium and other relevant nutrients
  • Heavy metals: Lead, cadmium, chromium, mercury, arsenic, nickel, copper, zinc, iron and manganese
  • Contaminants: Petroleum hydrocarbons, pesticides, PAHs, phenols and other site-specific pollutants
  • Fertility assessment: Available NPK, micronutrients and soil fertility indicators
  • Environmental assessment: Identification and evaluation of contaminated soil

Applicable Regulatory Framework

  • Environment (Protection) Act & Rules, 1986 – Environmental compliance.
  • CPCB Guidelines – Soil contamination and environmental assessment.
  • MSIHC Rules, 1989 – Applicable to hazardous chemical-related contamination.
  • Hazardous and Other Wastes Rules, 2016 – Applicable to contaminated soil/waste management, where relevant.
  • SPCB/GPCB Requirements – Site-specific environmental compliance.
  • ISO/IEC 17025:2017 – Laboratory testing and reporting requirements.
