Overview
What is a Zero Liquid Discharge Plant (ZLD)?
Bharti Enviro's ZLD plants integrate biological treatment, RO concentration, mechanical vapour recompression (MVR) or multiple-effect evaporation (MEE), and agitated thin-film dryers (ATFD) to achieve total liquid elimination — converting wastewater into a dry, landfill-able salt cake and clean condensate returned to process. ZLD is mandated by CPCB for textile, pharmaceutical, and chemical clusters discharging to water-stressed or coastal zones.
Key Features
- Complete ZLD train: ETP → RO → MEE/MVR → ATFD — 100% liquid elimination
- RO concentration achieves 15–25% TDS brine before thermal evaporation stage
- MVR compressor-driven vapour recompression reduces steam consumption by 60% vs MEE
- Condensate purity < 10 mg/L TDS — directly reusable as process water
