Overview
What is a Tertiary Treatment Plant?
Our tertiary treatment plants add a polishing layer — typically dual-media filtration, activated carbon adsorption, and UV or ozone disinfection — downstream of secondary biological treatment to achieve reuse-quality effluent for toilet flushing, landscape irrigation, or industrial process water. Bharti Enviro designs tertiary trains to Green Building (LEED/IGBC) reuse specifications and CGWB non-potable standards.
Key Features
- Dual-media + activated carbon removes residual BOD, TSS, and trace organics post-secondary
- UV (254 nm) or ozone disinfection eliminates pathogens for safe non-potable reuse
- Turbidity outlet < 1 NTU and E. coli < 10 CFU/100 mL for CGWB non-potable standards
- Supports LEED WE credits for treated effluent reuse in commercial buildings
