Overview
What is a Mechanical Vapour Recompression Plant (MVR)?
Bharti Enviro's MVR evaporators use a mechanical compressor to re-compress and recycle evaporator vapour back to the heat-transfer surface, achieving a steam economy equivalent of 20–50× and reducing energy consumption by 75–90% compared to conventional single-effect evaporation. MVR is the preferred technology for continuous, high-volume evaporation where steam supply is costly or limited.
Key Features
- Steam equivalent economy 20–50 kg water/kg steam — lowest OPEX for large-scale plants
- 75–90% reduction in energy vs single-effect steam evaporation
- Centrifugal or turbo blower recompressor — high reliability, low maintenance
- No external steam supply required in steady-state — only electricity needed
